Granite is a durable, low maintenance, scratch resistant and heat resistant stone often used for kitchen worktops and bathroom surfaces, and durable enough for floors and walls as well. The mineral composition of granite gives each piece of stone its unique appearance. The presence of quartz, for example, can produce pretty pink hues in granite.
