The Laura Ashley brand had its humble beginnings in 1950’s London, with Laura and Bernard Ashley experimenting with fabric printing and Victorian styles. By the late 1970’s, with dozens of shops worldwide, the couple moved to France where Laura began to focus less on fashion and more on home furnishings. The demand for Laura Ashley designs continued to grow even after her unexpected death, and several house collections were launched throughout the late 80’s. Today the company’s franchise operations include locations in Scandinavia, South America and Australia.
