History
A family business from the start, Beckermann has always been linked to tradition as much as to innovation. With over 120 years of experience, Beckermann has systematically built quality into its manufacturing process and services, and continues to keep its finger on the pulse of market trends and technological developments. The result is functionally and stylistically sophisticated award-winning kitchens.
Beckermann was founded out of the municipality of Cappeln in Germany in 1896 by Heinrich Beckermann. Two years after purchasing their first woodworking machine, Beckermann ventured into furniture manufacturing, and its facilities grew both in size and in technological capabilities, with the purchase of an Otto engine which accelerated mechanical production. Synthetic materials and surfaces were on the rise, and Beckermann got on board, incorporating plywood and blockboard into their operations. After World War II, Beckermann was able to establish plants and distribution points outside of Germany.
Far from simply adapting to the winds of change, Beckermann has been pushing the leading edge of change as well. The success of their entry into the brand articles market in the 1960’s was partly due to the boldness of their slogan “Kitchens for Europe’s women” and its message of quality. By the 80’s Beckermann had identified and tapped into the growing need of a mobile society for furniture that was also sized for mobility. Today, Beckermann employs around 200 people and continues to be ambassadors of premium German branded quality. This commitment has earned them the Kitchen Innovation of the Year awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

It starts with a free consultation and a visit to our showroom to get the creative juices flowing. Based on your goals, style preferences and measurements, we make a plan that includes your desired points.
Execute
Your design starts to come to life here. You are an integral part of this step and you can be as involved as you like. We invite you to visit our warehouse where we help you hand select the actual slabs of stone that will be formed into your project.
Install
This step is the culmination of all your effort and preparations. Your new design is finally created into your space. Depending on the services required, we could offer installation as well as full builing services.

When we moved to our new home, my wife and I decided to upgrade the kitchen and convert the bathroom adjacent to the kitchen into a utility room. We approached Open Plan Design and received the most amazing service one could ever wish for right from the start to finish. The team led by Mr Ali were able to wonderfully convert our raw ideas efficiently into detailed 3D perspectives and adjust the specification to meet our needs and expectations. The attention given to delicate details to ensure every aspect was covered and approved was outstanding and the entire project management was carried out meticulously and on time. We are extremely pleased with the workmanship and the quality of the German kitchen installed. Hassan who is the master fitter at Open Plan Design, is the most approachable and knowledgeable person and went beyond to satisfy us. With any big projects there is one or two little niggles that could emerge after installation and ours was no exception. Again, the team responded swiftly to rectify them. I wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone who wishes to achieve quality results and peace of mind with their renovation projects.

Openplan showed us various designs and more importantly made suggestions on the types of worktops to use for the kitchen. We were spoilt for choice and ultimately got the style, colour and design we wanted. The worktop was cut using the latest design in technology and delivered and installed professionally.
